This post, simply put, is how to be saved. It is not some complicated mathematical or scientific formula that is difficult to figure out but it could be the greatest decision you ever make. God loves you and wants a relationship with you. That’s it.
In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth (Genesis 1). He created man in His image and gave us the ability to make our own choices. Sin was introduced into the world through this free will causing a divide between mankind and the holiness of God. God desires a relationship with all of us so He sent His only son to live on this Earth, fully God and fully man, to dwell among us. He lived an example of a perfect, sinless life, showing kindness to the broken, love to the outcast, strength to the weak, and hope to the hopeless. And one day, as it was His purpose, He died on a cross taking away all of our sins and providing a bridge to the Holy One once again. His sacrifice for us has made it possible to have a relationship with the Creator of the universe. But the story doesn’t end there. In three days, Jesus rose from the grave, conquering death once and for all. He came, knowing He would suffer, to bring us eternal life. This eternal life is a free gift available to us all. You can do Nothing to earn it or deserve it.
“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father
except through me.” – John 14:6
All that he asks is that you would:
1. Admit that you are a sinner and in need of a Savior. Without Him, you will never be made whole but by accepting Him, and confessing and turning from your sins (that is repentance) you can be cleansed by the blood of the cross (Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23).
2. Believe Jesus is who He says He is. He is the one true God; the Holy Trinity; the perfect and spotless Lamb who God raised from the dead and is alive today (Romans 5:8).
3. Proclaim Jesus Christ as the Lord of your life and commit to following His will (Romans 10:9-10, 13).
If you just took those steps in prayerfully changing your life and eternity, welcome to the family! If you have more questions about what it means to become a Christian or what to do now that you have confessed that Jesus is Lord of your life, I encourage you to please reach out to a local pastor/minister or friend that you know could help guide you more on this incredible journey that you have just started! The communication line is open so talk to God anytime and read, read, read His Word. The Bible is a direct love letter written by Him to you!

“Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved…. For ‘everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ ” – Romans 10:9-10, 13 (ESV)
